When the Revolution came about, slavery had been in the world for thousands of years. The framers were tasked with removing a scourge that not many others had previously tried. The Declaration and Constitution would put it on its road to the dustbin of history.
It still exists in some parts of the world. Keep in mind the promises of every man created equal.
